RVCC/RCCC Virtual Alumni Choir!
Join us this November singing “This Christmastide” together!
Hello to all our RVCC/RCCC Alumni Singers! We hope you can join us in creating a special Alumni Choir Virtual Performance of "Christmastide" to be included as a special song in our 34th Annual Holiday Concert this December!
This year is so different for all of us and has brought many new challenges and changes to figure out. But there is always a way to find the silver lining in the story! A virtual choir in a virtual concert is the PERFECT way to gather all our Alumni Singers together in 2020, from anywhere in the world! We are so excited for this opportunity to sing together with you again!
The Children’s Choir is going strong! We have switched to all outdoor and virtual rehearsals. It is wonderful to be able to continue singing and teaching music to the next generation of children in our community! In the Spring, we quickly adapted to virtual singing and had a beautiful Virtual Spring Concert. If you haven’t seen it, you can watch the full Spring Concert here. Now we are excited to be creating another full length Virtual Concert for this Holiday Season! The RVCC’s Virtual Concert “Songs of the Season” will premiere LIVE on YouTube on December 13th, 2020! And we want YOU to be a part of it!
Please share and spread the word to all your choir friends! We are hoping for LOTS of Alumni to join us for this special performance. Love and virtual hugs to you all!! ❤️
A Video message to Alumni from Ms. Davidson!

Fill out the form below and we will send you a reminder email about the ZOOM recording on Nov. 22nd and add you to our current Alumni mailing list!
How To be a part of the Virtual Alumni Choir:
We will be creating the Alumni Virtual Choir Performance in two separate steps.
Attend a Zoom meeting on Nov. 22nd, 2020 at 7pm EST to record the video of all Alumni Singers together.
Record and send in your individual voice audio for the last verse of “Christmastide” (SI, SII, Alto, or Bass) by Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 26, 2020).
Recording the audio and video separately allows us to create the best quality audio and also makes the video editing portion much simpler!
Step 1: Video Recording on ZOOM! (Great job!)
The Video Recording for the Virtual Alumni Choir is on Sunday, November 22nd at 7:00EST! The video recording is going to be so much fun! It is just like an old fashioned choir rehearsal, only “virtual style”. You will mainly see Ms. D on speaker view and everyone will be muted during the rehearsal/video recording.
“Green and silver, red and gold”. Let’s all wear something Christmasy in green, silver, red, or gold for the video!
For the Zoom recording, your device should be side-to-side (not up and down). It looks nice to have plain background behind you, against a wall or in front of a plain door.

Step 2: Practice your SINGING and record your audio!
To record your audio, you will need:
· The ACCOMPANIMENT TRACK for the AUDIO RECORDING
· Headphones or earbuds
· One device to play the accompaniment track through headphones to listen to
· A second device (mobile phone) to record your singing voice
· A voice recorder app on your mobile phone (see link below to download one if you don't already have one)
Voice Recorder App to Download on your mobile phone (if needed): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coffeebeanventures.easyvoicerecorder
Please send in your audio recording by Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26th, 2020.
How to Record
The recording you take should be of your singing voice only. You listen to the accompaniment track in your headphones while you record just your voice. It can be helpful to wear headphones over just one ear so you can also hear yourself sing. Please be in a quiet space with no fans, talking, TV playing, or loud noises. Please start your recording and then clap 10 times with the metronome you hear so we can sync up all the individual voice tracks.
We have received these Alumni audio recordings so far -
Sop. 1 = 14
Sop. 2 = 16
Alto = 11
Bass = 7
We could use more people singing and recording the Alto and Bass parts! Even if its a different part than you sang in choir, it would be helpful if you could record Alto or Bass. You are also welcome to record more than one part if you’d like! Thank you for singing! Audio recordings are due November 26th, 2020.
HOW TO SEND IN YOUR FINISHED RECORDING
When you’ve finished your recording, please use the upload button to send in your voice recording. The upload button will go to the RVCC Dropbox file request for “Christmastide”. When you upload your file, please write your NAME and the VOICE PART you recorded (SI, SII, Alto, Bass) in the box that asks for your name.
Please send in your Audio Recordings by Thanksgiving Day, November 26th 2020! The RVCC Virtual Concert will premiere live on YouTube on December 13th! We are so excited for YOU to be a part of the concert!
Help us continue to share music with children in our community! Thank you for your support and for being part of the RVCC Family!
